HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital CEO inducted into Honorary Commander Program at MacDill Air Force Base

TAMPA, Fla. (November 13, 2024) – HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is pleased to announce that Chief Executive Officer Ned Hill was recently inducted into the Honorary Commander Program of the 6th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base. Hill was invited by Col. Ed Szczepanik, Commander of the 6th Air Refueling Wing, to participate in this prestigious program along with several other civic leaders. The Honorary Commander Program was established by MacDill AFB in 2009 as a forum to exchange ideas, experiences and friendship among the 6th Air Refueling Wing, and the greater Tampa Bay community.

“It’s an honor to be invited to participate in such an important community partnership,” said Ned Hill, CEO. “It allows the Airmen the opportunity to educate community leaders on the important role they play in our community and empowers us to be good community ambassadors and partners.”

South Tampa Hospital has been a partner and supporter of MacDill Air Force Base for many years through various community initiatives. As an affiliate of HCA Healthcare, the hospital is part of an organization that it has been recognized for the fifth consecutive year as a Best for Vets Employer by Military Times. This recognition highlights the efforts HCA Healthcare makes to recruit, mentor and retain U.S. service members. HCA Healthcare has hired more than 65,000 veterans, active-duty and reserve personnel and military spouses since 2012.
