Local company makes $25,000 donation to schools
Surrounded by members of the South Tampa Chamber and administrators from Hillsborough County Public Schools, Tampa based Old Republic National Title Insurance Company made a $25,000 donation to the Hillsborough Education Foundation, to benefit Hillsborough County Public Schools, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
The $25,000 donation will help the Tinker K-8 School, on MacDill Airforce Base, to upgrade their student-driven morning television show with the purchase of new software. This software will allow students to learn and use motion graphics and dynamic effects when sharing daily school news.
Another portion of the donation will benefit the Lanier Elementary School in two ways. First, to help fund a new sunshade on the playground that will protect students from the harmful effects of the sun during recess and physical education class. Second, to fund the construction of a hydroponic garden wall that will introduce students to hydroponic gardening, nutrition, and conservation in a hands-on learning environment.
“It is a pleasure to connect community leaders and generous businesses like Old Republic Title to schools with needs to expand resources and enhance learning experiences for students,” said Hillsborough Education Foundation CEO Kim Jowell. “We are thankful for the company’s continued investment in education, which is instrumental in improving educational outcomes for children and helping us grow as a community.”
“On behalf of Old Republic Title, I am very pleased to provide a donation check to the Hillsborough Education Foundation. We believe this donation demonstrates our support of early childhood education and our continued interest in helping young children to achieve their full potential.” Carolyn Monroe, President & CEO, Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.
“Our students are the most important community resource we have, they are our future workforce, leaders, artists and teachers. The South Tampa Chamber is proud to have helped make the connection between local company Old Republic Title and Hillsborough County Public Schools and we look forward to seeing this partnership grow. It is through the generosity of leaders like Old Republic Title that we can help our students to achieve their full potential,” said South Tampa Chamber President & CEO, Kelly Flannery.
In September of 2022, Old Republic Title made another $25,000 donation to Hillsborough County Public Schools to purchase musical instruments for the students at Chiaramonte Elementary and Pierce Middle schools.
