South Tampa Chamber CEO Kelly Flannery Completes Prestigious U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command Civic Leaders Program

TAMPA, FL – The South Tampa Chamber is proud to announce that its President and CEO, Kelly Flannery, has successfully completed the United States Air Force’s Air Mobility Command (AMC) Civic Leaders Program. This esteemed initiative brings together influential leaders from across the country to strengthen relationships between civilian communities and the Air Force, while fostering a deeper understanding of the critical role air mobility plays in national defense and global humanitarian efforts.
Flannery was among a select group of civic leaders invited to participate in this immersive program, which included on-site visits to AMC bases, firsthand insights into military operations, and the opportunity to engage with senior military officials and airmen. Participants gained unique perspectives on the Air Force’s mission to deliver rapid global mobility, enabling strategic reach and emergency response worldwide.

“It was an incredible honor to participate in the AMC Civic Leaders Program over the past three years and witness the dedication, skill, and innovation of the men and women of the U.S. Air Force,” said Flannery. “This experience has deepened my understanding of the vital partnership between our military and local communities, and I am excited to bring that knowledge back to Tampa Bay, home to MacDill Air Force Base and a community that strongly supports our military families.”

The Civic Leaders Program aligns with the South Tampa Chamber’s ongoing commitment to supporting MacDill Air Force Base, its personnel, and the broader military community. As CEO, Flannery has championed initiatives to strengthen the Chamber’s military affairs programming, including partnerships that advocate for service members, veterans, and their families in the region.

“Kelly’s participation in the AMC Civic Leaders Program reflects her dedication to building bridges between the military and civilian sectors,” said South Tampa Chamber Chairwoman, Tara Moody. “Her leadership continues to enhance the Chamber’s efforts to serve as a trusted advocate for our community and its military partners.”
Flannery has previously served as an Honorary Commander for the 6th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base, as chair of the Tampa Bay Air Fest, chair of the Tampa Air Force Ball, and has been recognized with the Air Force Commander's Award for Public Service and the President's Award from the Air Force Public Affairs Association.  She currently serves on the MacDill Support Council and on the Advisory Board for Blue Star Families Tampa Bay Chapter.
