South Tampa Chamber to Host Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration: “Making Waves for 99 Years”
Tampa, FL – December 1, 2024 – The South Tampa Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration, presented by Tampa General Hospital, taking place on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Centre Club. This signature event will bring together business and community leaders to reflect on the Chamber’s successes over the past year, honor outstanding members, and celebrate the Chamber’s remarkable 99-year history of making waves in South Tampa.
The theme, “Making Waves for 99 Years,” highlights the Chamber’s nearly century-long legacy of driving economic growth, fostering collaboration, and advocating for the South Tampa business community. During this gathering, Tara Moody, who served as the Chair of the Board for 2024, will ceremoniously hand over the gavel to Tanya Cielo, who will take the reins as the Chair of the Board for 2025. This year’s annual meeting will spotlight key accomplishments from 2024, including:

- Community Impact: The Chamber supported small businesses, strengthened ties with MacDill Air Force Base, and contributed to charitable causes that benefit the local community.
- Signature Events and Programs: The Chamber hosted sold-out events, such as the Taste of South Tampa and the South Tampa Business Expo, providing unparalleled networking and professional development opportunities for members.
The event will also feature the presentation of the Chamber’s annual awards, recognizing outstanding members that have made a significant impact in South Tampa over the past year. Dotti Groover-Skipper, CEO of the HeartDance Foundation, will be recognized as the Citizen of the Year and Officer Gig Brown, of the Tampa Police Department, will be recognized with the Hero of the Year Award.
