Sponsors have the opportunity to hand-deliver gift bags and personally welcome teachers.
School supplies can be dropped off at any chamber event in June and July, or at the Chamber office Monday-Thursday from 10:00am-3:00pm.
Last day to drop off supplies is Monday, July 27.

School Supply Drive Frequently Asked Questions
How many items do you need?
We are preparing welcome bags for approximately 150 newly hired teachers across South Tampa schools. While larger donations are appreciated, we are grateful for contributions of any size.
Can I donate branded or logo items?
Yes! We welcome branded promotional items, coupons, gift cards, and other useful resources that can help teachers feel supported and connected to the community.
When do you need materials?
To guarantee inclusion in the teacher welcome bags, all donated items must be received by July 27.
When and how will the bags be distributed?
The South Tampa Chamber has partnered with 17 South Tampa area schools. We work directly with school principals to identify newly hired teachers. Chamber members may sponsor a school and participate in delivering welcome bags during New Teacher Week, August 3–7.
What types of items are most needed?
School supplies, classroom essentials, gift cards, office supplies, self-care items, and community resources are all appreciated. We encourage donations that help teachers both in the classroom and personally as they begin the school year.
Can my company sponsor an entire school?
Yes. Sponsorship opportunities are available for members who would like to support a specific school and participate in delivering welcome bags to new teachers.
Are monetary donations accepted?
Yes. Monetary contributions can be used to purchase needed supplies and fill gaps in teacher welcome bags.
Can non-members participate?
Absolutely. We welcome support from businesses, organizations, and individuals who want to invest in local educators.
Where can I drop off donations?
Donations may be delivered to the South Tampa Chamber office Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. After hours, a donation box will be available inside the building's main hallway. Please contact our team if you need assistance coordinating a larger donation.
I don't have time to shop. Is there an easier way to contribute?
Absolutely! You can purchase items directly from our Amazon Wish List and have them shipped straight to the South Tampa Chamber office. This is a convenient way to support local teachers if you're short on time or unable to drop off supplies in person.
Interested in hosting a supply drive?
We would love your help! The Chamber can provide marketing materials and graphics to support your efforts. Chamber member businesses are encouraged to serve as collection sites or host supply drives for employees, customers, clients, or community members.
How will donors be recognized?
Participating businesses and organizations may be recognized through Chamber communications, social media, event promotions, and other marketing opportunities, depending on their level of participation.
Why is the Chamber leading this initiative?
Supporting educators strengthens our schools, our workforce, and our community. This initiative connects local businesses with the teachers who help shape South Tampa's future leaders.
Who can I contact with questions?
