Navigating Business as Diverse Community Members & What Safety and Inclusivity Mean in DEI
Opal Hudson, Asst. Chief Administrative Officer of Value, Hillsborough County Property Appraiser
Opal Hudson has spent her career in local government over the last eighteen years in the Tampa area, currently serving as the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer of Value for the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser. In her role she performs an array of duties including, tax roll administration and innovation, process redevelopment, management, policy making/compliance, strategic planning, internal/external human relations, and outreach. A female of color in a white, male dominated industry, Opal was instrumental in the creation, now longevity, of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Women?s Initiative Network, and was the first chair of the association?s Diversity and Inclusion Task Force created in 2020. Opal is also a board member for the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce, co-chairs the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce?s DEI Council, and sits on their Advocacy & Policy Committee.
