DCE Productions Creates Content for the Washington Monument Projection

DCE Productions, a leading audiovisual and experience design firm known for immersive visual storytelling, is proud to announce its role in the production of the breathtaking illumination of the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C., as part of Freedom 250—a nationwide celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

In partnership with Freedom 250, DCE Productions contributed to the development and execution of large-scale projection content showcased on the iconic Washington Monument, transforming the historic obelisk into an animated canvas honoring America’s journey. The six-night display, which launched on New Year’s Eve 2025, featured custom animation sequences that brought pivotal moments in U.S. history to life across all four sides of the memorial, captivating audiences both in person and online.

DCE's Director of Video Production Kyle Barrett highlighted the project’s impact, describing the animations as a “custom animated retelling of the country’s history” — an ambitious visual narrative designed to inspire and unite viewers as part of the yearlong celebration.

DCE Productions was instrumental in crafting the content for the projection, coordinating closely with Freedom 250’s leadership to ensure that each visual element honored the nation’s heritage.

The collaboration underscores DCE's strengths in large-format projection media, storytelling through motion design, and technical execution.

“We are honored to have played a role in this once-in-a-lifetime national celebration,” said Steve Kyler, CEO of DCE. “Partnering with Freedom 250 has allowed us to push the boundaries of what’s possible in immersive content design. Seeing our work displayed on such an iconic monument was truly a milestone for our team.”

The Washington Monument projection event marked the official kickoff to Freedom 250’s calendar of events celebrating 250 years of American independence, with nightly shows running through January 5, 2026.
