Now Open – HCA Florida North Dale Mabry Emergency
HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital expands 24/7 access to emergency services to North Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (March 16, 2026) Residents in North Tampa now have greater access to emergency care with the opening today of the HCA Florida North Dale Mabry Emergency, a fully-equipped, hospital affiliated emergency room providing care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Conveniently located at 15499 North Dale Mabry Highway, the new facility delivers the same level of emergency care found in a hospital-based emergency room.
The $16 million emergency room is a department of HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital and built with a commitment to ensure communities in and around North Tampa have access to high-quality emergency care.

“The growth of North Tampa underscores the importance of expanding access to high-quality healthcare in the communities we serve,” said Ned Hill, CEO, HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital. “We are proud to provide the surrounding communities with convenient access to emergency care close to home.”

Differs from Urgent Care
While urgent care centers treat minor illnesses and injuries during limited hours, a freestanding emergency facility is designed to handle serious and life-threatening medical conditions at any time, day or night.

Other differences include:
  • Open 24/7, 365 days a year — including holidays.
  • Board-certified emergency physicians always on-site
  • Advanced imaging services such as CT scans, X-ray, and ultrasound
  • On-site laboratory services
  • Ability to treat major medical emergencies, including chest pain, stroke symptoms, trauma, difficulty breathing, serious infections, and more.
  • Hospital-level emergency care, with seamless admission or transfer to inpatient care if needed.

Designed for Convenience and Speed
The North Dale Mabry Emergency was created with patient comfort and efficiency in mind, offering:
  • shorter wait times
  • 12 private treatment rooms
  • Digital diagnostic equipment, including CT, ultrasound, and X-ray.
  • On-site laboratory
  • Telemedicine technology with a specific focus on stroke care
Community leaders attended a ribbon-cutting and open house on Thursday, March 12, where they were able to tour the facility and meet hospital leaders and emergency room staff.
