Ned Hill Named CEO of HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital

TAMPA, Fla. (July 15, 2024) – HCA Healthcare West Florida Division President Jyric Sims announced today that Ned Hill has joined HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  Hill is responsible for services at the hospital’s multiple campuses including the South Tampa Hospital, HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital, the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery and the HCA Florida Central Tampa Emergency.

Hill brings an impressive track record of successes during his 22 years of healthcare administrative experience, most recently as the CEO of OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Illinois since August 2021.  Prior to that, he was CEO at Mesa View Regional Hospital in Mesquite, Nevada, Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy, North Carolina and Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins, Wyoming.  He moved into CEO roles following service as a Chief Operating Officer at Health Management Associates, Intermountain Healthcare and Community Health Systems facilities.

He earned his Associate Degree in Pre-Medicine from Brigham Young University and his Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science and Health and Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Health Services Administration from the University of Utah. 

Hill has a long track record of being active in the communities where he and his family have lived. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and completed a two-year service mission in Brazil where he was selected as assistant to the president, the highest missionary honor, and taught 300 missionaries how to achieve success.  He and his wife Emily have four children, ages 22, 20, 16 and 14 and the family enjoys outdoor activities. These activities include training for Spartan and Savage obstacle course races they compete in several times a year.
He replaces former CEO Sonia Wellman who recently retired.
