ForHearts Worldwide

ForHearts Worldwide is a non-profit organization that saves lives by fundraising and creating a network for providing implantable cardiovascular devices for people in need in developing countries around the world. Our mission is to do everything we can ForHearts in need around the world.

Volunteer Opportunities:
We have in-person volunteer opportunities throughout the year for our two annual events. Please email mhernandez@forhearts.org for more information.
For Giving Tuesday, we need social ambassadors this month! As a Social Ambassador, you’ll amplify the reach of the ForHearts social media posts by following, liking, and sharing our posts. You can also create your own posts about ForHearts. Post on the social platform you’re the most active on, so those in your network that are actively engaging with you are more likely to be reached, regardless of the size of your social following. There are no requirements for how many times or how often an ambassador should post and share about ForHearts on social media, or the type of posts to create. We ask that ambassadors share what they consider important to them as a ForHearts Ambassador.

Donations:
Any office supplies such as paper, ink, blank thank you cards, etc... would be appreciated. We also welcome auctions items (Gift baskets, signed memorabilia, gift cards, travel packages, etc) for annual events. Please contact mhernandez@forhearts.org for more information.

Additional Ways To Help:
Participating in Giving Tuesday. Around the world, millions of people need pacemaker surgery, but cannot afford the high cost of medical care. At ForHearts Worldwide, we save lives, one pacemaker at a time. But only with the generous help of financial supporters like you who will make a donation today. This #GivingTuesday, we need your support. Your financial contribution allows our global heart centers to not miss a beat -- providing vital heart surgery and follow up care for life. Whether you donate $5 or $500, all funds raised go directly to saving needy people in developing countries.

Meals On Wheels of Tampa

The mission of Meals On Wheels of Tampa is to nourish, enrich and strengthen the lives of seniors and individuals who have difficulty leaving their homes and are challenged to prepare meals. Recipients receive a hot, nutritious meal each weekday delivered by a volunteer who also serve as the “eyes and ears” to make sure recipients are fed and feel safe and secure.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Meals on Wheels of Tampa is always in need of volunteer drivers. We utilize over 100 volunteers each weekday to deliver meals. We have opportunities for individuals and groups. Check out https://mowtampa.org/volunteer/

Donations:
Each December, Meals On Wheels Tampa, with the support of this community, delivers a holiday gift bag to each of the over 1,000 recipients on our program. Each holiday bag is filled with a variety of items, such as: blankets, crossword puzzle books, toiletries, calendars, socks, individual snacks and a special gift. For many of the recipients we serve, this will be the only holiday celebration they will have. Many do not have family or friends near and are unable to travel to visit loved ones. This is our way of showing our senior and homebound neighbors that they are thought of and cared for, above and beyond their daily meal. These gift bags are made possible by the many donations received from the community. A flyer of the requested items can be found at https://mowtampa.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Meals-On-Wheels-of-Tampa-2022-holiday-item-drive-FINAL.pdf

  1. Additional Way To Help - Giving Tuesday:
On this National Day of Giving, Meals On Wheels of Tampa raises money for our Produce On Wheels (POW!) Program. We launched this program October 2015 after we heard from our recipients that they wanted fresh fruits and vegetables. The produce bags are free of charge and are delivered to the recipient’s homes by volunteers on the third Saturday of most months. This vital program provides healthy snacks, additional nourishment, and increased access to fresh produce.
