South Tampa Chamber Government Shutdown Resources
The South Tampa Chamber, in collaboration with our community partners, continues to monitor the current government shutdown and its potential impact on local service members and federal employees. Click here for a list of resources available in our community for those in need.  
Chamber members with dedicated programs or the ability to provide additional assistance are encouraged to share their information here.
 
November 11 – Veteran’s Day (No Committee Meeting)
In lieu of our November meeting, we have provided opportunities below for members who would like to volunteer or attend a memorial event on Veterans Day. If you know of additional events or programs, please upload them to the Chamber’ s website or share in the MAC Facebook Group.
 
November 20 – Great American Teach In @ Tinker K-8 on MacDill Air Force Base
The South Tampa Chamber invites you to participate in the 2025 Great American Teach In! We are excited to partner with Tinker K-8 on MacDill Air Force Base. Volunteers are given the opportunity to share with the students about your career, your experiences and community involvement.

• Who: Military families, service members, retirees, contractors, and civilians with access to MacDill Air Force Base.
• What: A food pantry and resource hub event providing essential food and support services in response to Military Food insecurity and during the ongoing government shutdown.
• When: 5 Nov 1200-1530
• Where: MacDill Air Force Base, CENTCOM LOT 8 (Near the CENTCOM Family Readiness Center
• Why: To alleviate financial and emotional stress caused by the government shutdown by ensuring access to nutritious food and critical resources for those affected.
